Community Impact reports that Willis ISD had a groundbreaking ceremony recently for their Middle School No. 3 which should be opened in 2025.
Funding for the new middle school comes from the District’s $143 million 2022 bond.
They’re in the steel framework stage of construction with the contractor company Durotech. A Fort Worth-based company, VLK, was responsible for the design.
Other bond projects are:
–A new elementary school for the Woodlands Hills community. This will be Elementary School No. 7
–A Lynn Lucas Middle School fine arts addition
–Softball and baseball field turf for Willis High School
–The purchase of land, 60.984 acres in all, near the southeast corner of I-45 and FM 830
