Six Bearkat bowlers have been named National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Academic Scholar Athletes.
Graduate Alexia Cassman, sophomore Carli Betz, senior Kaia Gray, senior Katelyn Paris, freshman Rachel Ong and senior Stephanie McCoy were all recognized for their accomplishments inside the classroom.
Sam Houston was also recognized as an NTCA All-Academic Scholar team with a 3.531 team GPA this past season.
The Bearkats now have 57 NTCA All-Academic Scholar Athletes in the program’s 14 seasons.
The NTCA recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom throughout the academic year. This year there are 364 honorees, representing NCAA bowling programs at 75 schools.
A student athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher for the academic school year to qualify for this award.
