On May 2nd, the Lone Star College system’s board of trustees moved forward in approval for two campus projects at a cost of $41.7 million–one in Montgomery County and one in northern Harris County.
Looking at the Montgomery County project, according to documents for the May 2nd meeting, trustees gave the chancellor approval to negotiate a construction manager at-risk contract for LSC Montgomery’s Magnolia Center. That facility, to be constructed by the Tellepsen Company, is under a contract not to exceed $28.2 million in cost.
Focusing on more facts about the project:
The Magnolia Center will encompass 51,500 square feet.
Will be in a substantial completion stage by the summer of 2025.
Will be constructed near the intersection of FM 1486 and FM 1774 in Magnolia.
Lone Star College web information says the college is one of the fastest-growing community college systems in the nation. LSC ranks third nationally in conferring Associate Degrees among all community colleges. It is recognized as a Top 10 Degree Producer for minorities, ranking sixth nationally among U.S. community colleges.
