The Courier of Montgomery County reports that Montgomery High School will be undergoing renovations at a cost of $26.1 million. Other campuses have some renovations ahead, also.
Coming under the umbrella of MISD’s $326 million bond package, the high school is among four campuses planned for renovations. Upgrades will be a focus of renovation efforts. Those upgrades entail a number of building systems, like air conditioning and heating, plumbing and roofing. According to Communications Coordinator for the District, Stephanie Wells, there will be technology infrastructure updates at the school.
The completion date for renovations is in August, before the beginning of the 2024 school year.
Other schools slated for renovation include, Lone Star, Madeley Ranch and Stewart Creek elementary schools. This summer, updates to technology infrastructure at those schools are in the works. Because of not having enough contractor bids, major renovations at these schools have been put off until the summer of 2025.
A ground breaking ceremony was held back in 2023 for the $43.4 million Creekside Elementary School. That school is expected to open for the 2024-25 school year.
