Well, the water running to your tap is going to be available for a long time. During the Huntsville City Council’s regular meeting this week they considered a resolution approving a bond resolution of the Trinity River Authority and authorizing the execution and delivery of the “Trinity River Authority of Texas – First Amendment – Huntsville Regional Water Supply System Contract.”
Councilmember Vicki McKenzie asked City Finance Director Steve Ritter, “On this approval, as far as you know, it’s just giving us the approval to do the bonds?”
Mr. Ritter replied:
Councilmember Anissa Antwine asked, “What are the key provisions outlined in the first amendment to the Huntsville Regional Supply System, and how would they impact the city water supply, operations and services?
Mr. Ritter answered:
Regarding financial implications, the agenda packet said, “Debt service on the bonds issued will create a need for increased water rates in future years. Rate increases for future years will be developed based on the debt service on bonds issued and all other operational costs to provide water to City customers.”
Council members approved the agenda item.
