The Courier of Montgomery County reports that the grand marshal for this Saturday’s Project Hope Black History Parade and Celebration in Conroe will be Willis High School head football coach Trent Miller. He sucessfully coached the Wildcats to a district record of 8-0 and an overall record for the season of 12-1.

The parade memorializes Leon Tolbert Jr. Chairman of the parade, Walter Milo, said Tolbert was on the Black History Month parade commission. In Conroe, he coached Little League Football for several years.
In Conroe, since he was a kid, Tolbert played for Booker T. Washington High School, a black high school until schools in Conroe became integrated. In the sixties, he was part of two-state championship wins for the school.
