This Saturday everyone is invited to a blacksmith demo to learn about this craft. It will be held on the grounds of Sam Houston Memorial Museum and Republic of Texas Presidential Library at Joshua’s Forge, a blacksmith shop. Their website passes along that “During the 19th century, blacksmiths were relied upon to create essential everyday products.”
Also, on the grounds Saturday, there will be a historical demonstration of spinning. It will be held at the Bear Bend Cabin. They also pass along that “in case of inclement weather, this event is moved inside the Wigwam Neosho Museum Store.”
