Community Impact reports that data information says that since 2021 Willis, Montgomery and Conroe have experienced an upward swing in multifamily construction.
Multifamily housing being built in those cities, according to last months info from MRI Apartment Data, shows a rise from about 1,000 in 2021 to about 4,000 new projects currently being built or planned for 2023.
According to the President of the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, Scott Harper, Conroe’s multifamily availabilities are luring people interested in easy access to I-45. He said, instead of buying a home, they obtain a year’s lease on a good apartment and explore the area for where they want to put down roots.
Half-a-dozen multifamily places have opened their doors locally since 2022: The Vic at Woodforest off Central Pine Street in Montgomery; and in Conroe, The Flats at Hooper Hill, Argo Pointe Apartments, Prose in the Pines, Alta Sergeant and The Strake at Grand Central.
In Montgomery, as a component of a larger mixed-use effort located at Lone Star Parkway and FM 149, 98 multifamily units have been proposed. And, according to an October 2023 development map from Montgomery, Grand Monarch Apartments are under construction.
Also according to October 20th Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation registration info, Cannan Place Apartments and Camp Creek Apartments were two new projects being built in Willis.
