The Courier of Montgomery County reports that WISD is keeping in mind plans of hiring a new Willis ISD superintendent by the time summer rolls around. School officials will interview candidates for the position in March.
Following eleven years with the district, former superintendent Tim Harkrider made known his resignation in June. He will be the new superintendent of College Station ISD.
The Thompson and Horton firm got the approval to be paid $20,000 to begin the search, following an agreement made in the district’s November meeting.
During a trustee meeting, a meeting to gather input from parents and staff was discussed to happen January. They hope to put an application deadline in place for February.
Following 30 days of application review, interviews of candidates singled out by the firm would begin. Two rounds of interviews will ensue.
According to a Willis ISD release, there will be a 21-day, state-mandated period of waiting for the lone finalist before being officially hired. According to information from the WISD website, tentatively, a new superintendent would begin working in the position by June 3rd.
