At last Monday’s Walker County Commissioners’ Court session, Sheriff Clint McRae discussed taking action on allowing the jail administrator position to be filled and not kept vacant, to be paid for out of general funds.
Sheriff McCrae addressed commissioners on the matter of Jail Administrator Jennifer Lewman’s retirement and the filling of the position.
County Auditor Patricia Allen said in regard to the payment, “The policy sets the amount of the benefits that are paid.”
Sheriff McCrae said, “It’s actually a pay off of the time she has built up for over a 27-year period. He added, “For six weeks, I’ve had her burning at least three days a week.”
