Community Impact reports that a number of food, fund or gift drives are being hosted during this holiday time by non-profits in Montgomery County.
The Montgomery County Food Bank in Conroe has a food and funds drive going through December 31st. Businesses, residents and organizations are encouraged to register to participate in “Holiday Helpings.” Up to four meals can be provided with each $1 contributed. Interfaith of The Woodlands has programs citizens can participate in. They include the holiday toy drive, the adopt-a-family gift program, gifts for seniors, holiday food assistance and gift card donations. A “Share-A-Family” holiday giving program gets underway November 15th through December 18th from the Montgomery County Women’s Shelter. Citizens can host a giving tree, donate money or adopt a family to provide gifts for them. They’re located at 1401 Airport Road in Conroe. The shelter’s website is at mcwctx.org/event.
An “Angel Adoption Program” is being hosted by the Salvation Army in Conroe. Participants can buy gifts for children they “adopt” by buying items from the specific gift registries. Go to salvationarmyhouston.org/houston.
