The Courier of Montgomery County reports that Randi Gay, a former Shepherd ISD director, has been chosen for an important position in Willis ISD.
The Montgomery resident will become the special education director at Willis ISD. She had the same position in her previous job in Shepherd.
Ms. Gay worked for Montgomery ISD for 15 years before she began working for Shepherd ISD. She was a psychologist for the Montgomery district and also served as a special education coordinator.
According to Willis ISD Communications Director Jamie Falls, Gay will be replacing the former Special Education Director Jamie Benson who had held the position since 2020. Benson went to work for SHSU as a clinical assistant professor.
Ms. Gay said she is “honored and enthusiastic about the opportunity.”
The district’s diagnostician, Lisa Long, will be working as assistant director of special education at Willis ISD. Her new position was established back in May to offer support to the special education director.
