The Courier of Montgomery County reports that at 2:30 Saturday afternoon the Conroe Symphony Orchestra will begin their new fall concert season by presenting “With a Latin Flair” at First Methodist Conroe.
Latin jazz singer Ermelinda Cuellar will be featured along with the orchestra. Gary Liebst is the symphony’s conductor.
Ms. Cuellar, a jazz and Latin music singer, has been performing to Houston audiences over the years. In 2022, her self-released album, What a Difference a Day Made, came in as number eight on The Roots Music Report top Latin Jazz album chart of the year.
Her choice of music covers quite a spectrum, from bossa nova to Mexican/Latin/South American songs, to jazz standards and some pop songs.
Liebst has many years of experience conducting community and college orchestras, jazz ensembles and concert bands.
