A letter to Huntsville ISD parents and guardians was published on the district’s website Tuesday regarding an altercation at HISD’s transportation bus-loading dock on Tuesday afternoon.
It reported that:
“A few students were involved in an altercation and once separated, they were removed from the dock and their parents were contacted to come pick them up. When the parents arrived, the adults also began to argue and another altercation ensued. SROs and local law enforcement immediately responded to help diffuse the situation. After the police intervened, emergency services were dispatched to the Transportation Department to treat the injuries of those adults involved.
“All students involved will receive appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. The adults involved were handled appropriately by law enforcement with arrests being made.”
The letter said, “Student safety is our utmost concern and this behavior will not be tolerated.” It also said, “The poor choices made by these few students and their parents does not reflect the overall quality of our school community.”
