The Courier of Montgomery County reports that final implementation work of Conroe ISD’s $16.5 million effort to expand its Gladstell Street transportation facility in Conroe and bring on a new facility at their location at Caney Creek High School off FM 1485 is underway.
The two operations will allow more room for more staff and buses, according to Director of Planning and Construction for the district, Easy Foster. More bus drivers have been hired.
Foster passed along during a recent Conroe ISD Board meeting that things are on schedule for borh facilities. In December, they expect the fleet to start using them.
The district’s 2019 $653 million bond referendum and the general fund for the district will fund the facilities.
The Gladstell site, according to Assistant Superintendent of Operations for the District, Chris McCord, will have a new operation staff facility along with a building already located there. The building already on site has undergone remodeling to enlarge the mechanic shop.
At the FM 1485 facility, operational staff will be in a new building.
