Community Impact reports that at the Conroe City Council meeting on August 24th, Director of Finance and Assistant City Administrator Collin Boothe delivered a briefing regarding various alternatives figured for increases in water and sewer rates for 2023-24.
Director Boothe offered two options. In one alternative, rates are raised at the same level for commercial and residential customers. In the other alternative, rates are increased differently for commercial and residential customers.
Upon adoption of the budget, Boothe passed along that the sewer and water rate increases will just be undergoing approval for Fiscal Year 2023-24.
He said the future fiscal year rates are “just for planning purposes, and these numbers can change as we go from fiscal year to fiscal year.”
In the first residential alternative, for 5,000 gallons it’s $88 to $91–in the second alternative it’s $88 to $90
In the first, for 10,000 gallons it’s $146 to $150– in the second it’s $146 to $148
In the first. for 15,000 gallons it’s $206 to $212– in the second it’s $206 to $209
In the first commercial alternative, for 50,000 gallons it’s $753 to $774—in the second alternative it’s $753 to $783
In the first for 100,000 gallons it’s $1,605 to $1,653– in the second it’s $1,605 to $1,673
According to Boothe, Alternative 2 is the recommendation of the staff.
