CRITICAL WILDFIRE THREAT

We talked with the Walker County Office of Emergency Management. A Critical Wildfire Threat has been issued. Regions with increased risk also include areas east of I-45 and south of I-20, near Jacksonville, Center, Lufkin, Crockett, Huntsville, Woodville, Cleveland, Kirbyville and Jasper. High fire danger and critical fire weather conditions exist with increased wind speeds up to 15 miles per hour. Triple digit temperatures aligning with very dry grass may result in fires hard to control. The Office of Emergency Management requests that no outside burning be undertaken.
