This week the Walker County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a theft at a local business in the 9000 block of SH 75S in New Waverly. Upon arrival of the deputies, the store manager advised that a rocking chair was taken without the store’s consent.
While deputies reviewed the surveillance video a white male was observed getting out of a white Ford F150 pick-up, walking up to the rocking chair, and seeing that it was secured with a metal chain proceeded to grab an unknown tool from inside the pick up to cut the metal chain. The man is then seen loading the chair in the back of the pick-up and traveling southbound on SH 75S. Through surveillance, the Sheriff’s Office obtained a license plate on the pick-up and was able to get the information on the registered owner.
Deputies arrived to the address listed on the license plate and observed a rocking chair at the front of the residence. After speaking to the man, he confessed to have taken the chair without the store’s consent.
Fifty-eight-year-old, Lonnie Paul Adams II was placed under arrest and transferred to the Walker County Jail. Adams II was charged with Theft >= $100<$750 (Misdemeanor B) and has since made bond.
