At this week’s Walker County Commissioners’ Court regular session, commissioners discussed the proposed Walker County Strategic Plan. According to the document, “The plan can now be used to assist in:
–Providing guidance on budget planning and capital improvements.
–Identifying developing, or improving planning documents, codes and policy directives.
–Conveying the Commissioners Court’s visions and goals to elected officials, employees and the public.
–Encouraging collaboration with other agencies and internal departments.”
Regarding the document, County Auditor Patricia Allen told the court:
Commissioner Bill Daugette wanted the plan to include more specifics.
Ms. Allen further commented:
Commissioner Daugette cautioned on not rushing into additional changes this year but taking time to poll the public or have neighborhood meetings. The item was for presentation and discussion only.
