Last Friday morning in back of Huntsville High School, members of the local community got to see the two tiny homes that Huntsville High School students in Huntsville ISD’s Career and Technical Education Department built for Operation Finally Home. The homes will provide free transitional housing for deserving military veterans in the future and will be moved to Tara and Roger Burnett’s FOB Ten Mile Ranch.
Career and Technical Education architecture and construction teacher Kevin Dasilva addressed those in attendance:
Lee Kerrigan from Operation Finally Home passed along:
HISD senior participating student builder Danny Ascencia gave a brief talk, then Tara Burnett from FOB Ten Mile Ranch, who is also director of the HEARTS Veterans Museum, passed along she felt truly inspired to do the project:
Lowe’s Home Improvement and others provided a great deal of the funds.
