The Huntsville City Council will meet for a regular session at six this evening at the Huntsville Public Library Staggs Community Room. Previous to the session, at 4:30 they will meet for a Joint Workshop with the Planning Commission to discuss proposed zoning districts.
Tonight’s proclamation will be in regard to Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Also this evening, the Huntsville Municipal Airport TxDOT Award Recipient will be honored.
There will be a Public Hearing in regard to Parkwood Drive, between the I-45 Feeder and Veterans Memorial, to be renamed “Wischnewsky Drive.”
Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes:
–a resolution to apply for and accept if awarded, a TxDOT grant for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive Pedestrian Improvements Project.
–entering into a contract for construction and related services for improvements to the Sam Houston Visitor’s Center porch and railing.
–consideration of the adoption of amendments to the 2023 City Council Strategic Plan.
Tonight’s “Statutory Agenda” includes a “First Reading” to consider the adoption of an ordinance changing the name of Parkwood Drive to “Wischnewsky Drive.”
