The season for outdoor grilling is ahead. New Waverly Fire Department’s District Chief Jimmy Williams stopped by the newsroom to talk about outdoor fire cooking safety.
He told us, “We see a lot of outdoor grilling-type fires.”
He added, “Make sure you cook, if possible, on a non-combustible concrete surface, or maybe a pad that’s non-combustible on your deck. And, keep that grill well-away from your home.”
