Walker County is consistently moving forward to improve their Emergency Medical Services department with training, as well as state-of -art equipment.
County EMS Director Rachel Parker addressed commissioners regarding allowing EMS to apply for a grant through the Gary Sinise Foundation for a portable ultrasound device:
Ms. Parker said, “The device shouldn’t be any more than $5,000.” Judge Christian, Commissioner Daugette and others suggested they approve the application but also have Ms. Parker see if there are additional items she needs paid for by the grant. Commissioners approved applying for the grant.
