The Montgomery County Courier reports that several thousand new multifamily developments and new homes are expected across Montgomery County because five new municipal utility districts are under proposal for the Conroe area.
At last Wednesday’s Workshop, City Director of Community Development Nancy Mikeska said when the Municipal Utility Districts are originated by the adoption of a district creation bill by the legislature in Austin, and have the support of the county or city they are in, then once that legislation receives approval, the city staff will look over the MUD, including the land plan, to make sure it is in accordance with city ordinances.
She said if the plan gets approved, it will be sent to city councilmembers for their final approval of the district’s creation and development plan.
In the plans for MUD No. 225 from DIS Land Company, will be the development of 396 acres off of FM 2854 near Loop 336.
Conroe Ventures Limited is focusing on MUD NO. 216 which will span around 494 acres off Longmire Road.
