The Montgomery County Courier reports the possible annexation of around 255 acres into the new Airport Road Municipal Utility District, the planned location of the new Cielo development, will be reviewed again by the Conroe City Council. A new elementary school for Conroe ISD is planned there.
In February, the council put the item on hold and will take a look at it at it this week.
If given the council’s approval, Cielo will comprise 261 acres make available 858 single-family lots on Airport Road near FM 1484. The Woodlands-based Signorelli Company is the developer.
Signorelli passed along that home builders will include First America Homes, Castle Rock Communities and Century Homes. Homes will be available at $300,000 and up.
According to Conroe Director of Community Development and Assistant City Administrator Nancy Mikeska, there will be no multifamily or commercial development, and 16 acres of land is being made available for a new school.
Many built-for-rent homes will be available.
Mikeska also said the community would have to be in agreement on the annexation.
