Friday 10/09/20 – Hornets get win

The Huntsville Hornets were dominant Thursday night in Humble as they blanked the Kingwood Mustangs 21-0, For the Hornets, they’re now at 2-0 on the season, and they’re next up a week from today as they’re at Bowers Stadium for their home opener against the Panthers from C.E. King. Kick-off will be at 7:30pm.

The Huntsville Hornets are now ranked #7 of Class 5A high schools in the latest Houston Area Media Poll for High School- this poll came out on Wednesday before the Hornets Thursday night win.

Last night’s rescheduled football game for the New Waverly Bulldogs’ against Newton has been rescheduled yet again due to Hurricane Delta. The change was announced late Thursday morning with no new date announced.

The Astros scored five runs in the fourth inning to beating the Oakland A’s 11-6 on Thursday to win game 4 of the American League Divisional series. Houston advances to the American League Championship Series for the fourth straight time. Only the 1970s Athletics, who went five straight years, and the 1998-2001 Yankees have had as long of an ALCS streak. The Astros will play either the Rays or Yankees in a best-of-seven series beginning Sunday in San Diego.

In the NFL, the Houston Texans are at home Sunday as they host the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Dallas Cowboys are at home as they host the New York Giants.

The Chicago Bears beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-19 Thursday night.
