The Walker County Office of Emergency Management reports that as of 4 PM, Wednesday, July 29, there were 671 active cases of coronavirus in the county, with 418 recovered and 4 deceased. Fourteen new community cases were reported on July 28th.

Among TDCJ offenders in the county, there were 114 active cases with 1,840 recovered.

Among TDCJ employees in the county, there were 110 active cases reported with 242 recovered.

Community testing continues today and August 4, 11, 18 and 25, 8 AM to 4 PM, at the Walker County Fairgrounds. Symptoms do not have to be present to test. Registration will be performed on-site. Valid ID is required at the test site.
