The Walker County Office of Emergency Management reported as of Friday, June 26th, at 2 PM that there were 415 active and recovered cases of coronavirus among regular residents in the county—that’s 243 active cases and 172 graduated out. There were 22 new community cases since the last report on June 25.
They report TDCJ cases among offenders in Walker County at 1,632 active and recovered.
The next community testing is July 8th, 9 AM to 6 PM, at the Walker County Fairgrounds. Symptoms do not have to be present to test; however, you must register at txcovidtest.org or call 512-883-2400. Valid ID is required at the test site.
The TDCJ COVID-19 Case Counts website reports that as of Saturday, June 27th, statewide among offenders in their facilities there were 982 active cases with 6,780 recovered; presumed COVID deceased 79 and pending cause 27.
Among employees, they report 406 active cases with 915 recovered; presume COVID deceased 8 and pending cause 0.
