HUNTSVILLE PD REPORTS ON STOLEN CAR CHASE

Huntsville Police Department Lt. Jim Barnes informs us that, “The Huntsville Police Department responded to a report of a stolen vehicle over the weekend that occurred at Bill Fick Ford and found out that there’s actually a ‘Craig’s List Scam’ where people post pictures of cars for sale that are actually on dealership lots and unknown to the dealership or the suspected purchaser.”

Lt. Barnes said, HPD “did some research and were able to determine that there was a vehicle on the lot at Bill Fick Ford that the scammers were trying to sell on Craig’s List illegally to a person in New Mexico . . . .”

As you heard, Lt. Barnes says they “were able to get one suspect in custody, and he’s been charged with auto theft and possession of a controlled substance.” Lt. Barnes also said, “We are still investigating this and hopefully we’ll have more arrests pending.”
