VICTIMS REMEMBERED IN ANGEL TREE CEREMONY

According to the peopleagainstviolentcrime.org website, the Tree of Angels was begun in Austin in 1991 by the Executive Advisor of People Against Violent Crime, Verna Lee. It’s purpose was “to recognize that the holiday season is a difficult time for victims and their families. This special event in December honors surviving victims of violent crime and victims’ families by making it possible for loved ones to bring an Angel to place on a special Christmas tree.”

Last night, victims of violent crimes in Walker County were remembered at the Angel Tree ceremony at the Walker County Storm Shelter.
