HUNTSVILLE ISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETS TONIGHT

The Huntsville ISD Board of Trustees will have a public hearing followed by a regular Board meeting tonight at six at the Hawkins Administration Building.

During the 2019-2020 School Year Budget and Tax Rate public hearing commencing at 6 PM:

–Chief Financial Officer for Business and Finance, Paul Brown, will have a presentation of the proposed 2019-2020 School Year Budget and Tax Rate.

–During the public hearing, an opportunity will be provided for the district taxpayers to address the Board of Trustees regarding the budget and tax rate as indicated in the proper notice given. If a taxpayer would like to address the Board regarding the budget and tax rate, a public comment card should be completed prior to the start of the public hearing as well as signing in.

Following Board recognitions and public comment, the Board will consider approval of the Consent Agenda.

Chief Financial Officer Paul Brown will be the presenter as the Board considers the 2019-2020 School Year Budget and Compensation Plan for approval.

Tonight, the Board will consider approval of an ordinance setting the 2019-2020 School Year Tax Rate, including:

–the Maintenance and Operations Tax Rate

–the Debt Service Tax Rate

Tonight, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction Marcus Forney will be the presenter as the Board considers approval of the purchase of The Solution Tree—Priority Schools in a Professional Learning Communities at Work professional development program.

Huntsville ISD Superintendent Dr. Scott Sheppard will hold a briefing.
