The Huntsville ISD Board of Trustees met for their regular session at the Hawkins Administration Building last night. One of several important issues they discussed was Board approval of the Alternative Education Program.
The Hornet Success Academy provides an alternate opportunity for some students to earn their diploma.
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction, Marcus Forney, explained to Trustees and others in attendance . . . .
During the first year of the operation of the program, 40 students would be allowed to enroll. Allowing more in would be an option based on need.
The Academy would be staffed by a combination of existing staff and hiring a program director and counselor. The state would also provide funds.
Trustees approved initiating the program.
