Thursday night, a Davis, California police officer was killed while responding to a vehicle accident. Twenty-two-year-old Natalie Corona was pronounced dead at the University of California Medical Center following her shooting by a lone gunman.
A manhunt resulted in locating the shooter, who was found dead inside a home near the scene. He appeared to have committed suicide.
Officer Corona had graduated from the police academy last July, finished field training before Christmas and was out patrolling for a few weeks on her own. Officer Corona is survived by her parents.
