At the regular session of the Huntsville City Council last night, Officers Brandon Boyd and Keith Sarraf received the Huntsville Police Department’s Life Saving Award for saving the life of Huntsville resident Ron Smith.
On April 6th, Mr. Smith collapsed at Kroger’s while shopping. Police arrived on the scene in under a minute and started CPR on Mr. Smith.
Huntsville Police Chief Kevin Lunsford addressed the council on what happened . . . .
In a memorandum on the life-saving event, HPD Sergeant Jeremy Carroll said, “I was truly impressed by their efforts and determination to save a complete stranger, and it was quite a sight to see. I can say they made this department look great by doing what we often expect but not require and truly encompassed the core values of this department.”
In attendance for the award ceremony, Mr. Smith thanked God for having the police officers on hand that day during his medical crisis.
